NEW PERSHING 108 – WITH TRIPLE ARNESONS

The new 108ft Pershing 108 is the first ever Pershing to be powered by triple Arneson surface drives.  Each is driven by a 2435hp MTU diesel.  With all three at full throttle, she will reach 42 knots (48mph).  But the triple arrangement is not all about top speed.  It’s also about economy.  Pershing’s aim is that the triple configuration provides a choice of operating ‘modes’.  It enables you to optimise efficiency according to how fast you want to travel. With just the outer two engines running, the 108 will cruise at 20-25 knots – more economically than she would driven by all three together.  For long distances, such as moving to a new cruising area, possibly overnight with guests on board, she will cruise at 10kn under the middle drive alone, with very little sound, and a range of over 1000nm.

When you arrive at your destination, and the 108 switches to her role as waterside holiday home, she is an absolute joy.  In terms of deck space, and outside recreation, working from front to back the 108 has a delightful breakfasting/socialising area in the bow; then there’s a big sunbed with storage for two jet-skis stored beneath it – launched with an electric crane that stowes between them; then comes the top deck with its flying bridge, which is enormous and features a big seating area, a dumb waiter to deliver food and drinks from the galley below and two huge sunbeds; right at the stern, the aft- aftdeck dining area seats ten, and also has another huge sunbed, over the garage which deck can accommodate a 5.0m tender with space for either storage or another jet-ski alongside it.

In familiar Pershing style, the glass partition between the aft deck and the saloon drops away into the floor in two sections at the touch of a button, creating a seamless, uninterrupted indoor/outdoor living area some 70ft long. Inside, the 108 is a picture of contemporary Italian interior-design chic, finished in Canaletto walnut, with elegant furnishings by the renowned Italian designer, Poltrona Frau.

Accommodation on the lower deck is as stunning as you’d expect on a big Pershing.  The owner’s suite, which lies across the centre of the boat and occupies an area of some 400 sq ft, includes a domestic-sized bathroom and either a study or dressing area.  Forward, there are a further two double cabins and a twin, all with their own en suite facilities.  The crew area, with three en suite cabins, the crew mess and the main galley, sits between the owner’s suite and the engine room. A dumb waiter connects the galley to the saloon above and the top deck.

The Pershing 108 will make her world debut in 2010.
