Custom Line 124 – THE FIRST HULL IS LAUNCHED

Custom Line launches the new planing line flagship in Ancona
A sunny, late spring morning was the setting for a new launch for Custom Line. This Ferretti Group brand is one of the leaders in the semi-customised maxi yacht sector for yachts in composite material measuring between 26 and 37 metres, with either a planing or semi-displacement hull. This was the launch of the very first unit of the 124’ hull, new flagship of the Custom Line planing fleet.
The travel-lift system located at the Ferretti Group facility in Ancona was used to place the maxi yacht into the water. Custom Line 124’ measures over 37 metres and was built at the Ancona facility.
The moment, sealed by the traditional breaking of the bottle on the bow keel of the deep blue coloured hull, was particularly thrilling, as it symbolised realization of the engineering and design work, artisan production and painstaking care the shipyard took over every single detail of this model. Indeed, Custom Line yachts have always stood out for the fact the owner, assisted by an architect, can personalise all those parts of the yacht which are not purely structural. These include the woods, leathers, fabrics, and on-board decoration and furnishings, and make each model unique, just like their owners.
“We are very proud of our “new arrival” and particularly excited about today, which marks the beginning of renewed, further growth for Custom Line” commented Marco Segato, Custom Line Brand Manager. “A further two units of the 124’ have already been sold, and are currently being built at the Ancona facility, confirming the market’s positive response to this new model, which we will be presenting, as a world première, at the upcoming Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes”.
Ferretti Custom Line 124’ was designed by the expert pencil of architect Gianni Zuccon from Studio Zuccon International Project, who dealt with both the internal and external layouts, working in association with the AYT, Advanced Yacht Technology, Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre. The first model, launched today, features a deep blue hull with a white superstructure, and stands out for her spacious areas both inside and out, well-distributed between the main, lower, upper and sun decks.
The exterior of the yacht features soaring, light, elegant lines, distinctive signs of Custom Line maxi yachts, thanks to installation of an extensive glazed surface which naturally lights the interior. The brand also offers owners the opportunity to include special aesthetic-functional features, such as large side doors and windows in the salon and platforms which create exclusive private terraces over the sea.
The upper deck is split between the helm station and lounge/dining area, set in a raised position in order to guarantee total onboard privacy. The model also features large outdoor areas, and the cockpit has a teak table for 10 to 12 guests. This area may be personalised by replacing the table with a lounge area, complete with sofas. The upper deck features a second open air luncheon area, where a jacuzzi and sundeck can be installed. The bow lounge area, complete with semi-circular sofa, is a true lounge over the sea, to which a number of sun pads have been added for sun lovers.
Also for the interior of the yacht, Studio Zuccon International Project realized design solutions that features spacious areas, with a salon measuring over 50 square metres, the master suite and, on the lower bridge, four large guest cabins. In all, Ferretti Custom Line 124’ can accommodate up to 10 guests, plus 6 crew members.
Moreover, the extensive range of personalised solutions makes it possible to alter the use of some of the areas, according to the owner’s requests. A fitness area with top quality, last generation wellness equipment can be installed in place of one of the cabins, for example, or a chrome therapy system in the heads, for a cruise centred on wellbeing.
The different areas blend together harmoniously regards performance, too. This yacht can reach a top speed of 27 knots (preliminary data) with the largest MTU engine, 3510hp, and offers the comfort guaranteed by the Mitsubishi Anti Rolling Gyro system, which reduces rolling by over 50%.
