With a hull length officially just under 24m, the 960 falls within the size of yacht that can be driven without a professional or yachtmaster qualification – a considerable attraction to prospective owner-drivers! She does however have a raised and separate pilot house, so is also well suited to being in the charge of a professional captain if you prefer.
The 960 is the largest yacht Ferretti Yachts has ever built, and the first with the owner's suite located on the main deck, a feature usually only associated with superyachts of over 100ft. There are also four double guest suites, and the three crew cabins have private access from the galley.
View GalleryOne particularly notable feature of the 960 is the floodable garage and lowering centre section of the bathing platform, a very neat arrangement that makes easy work of launching and recovering the tender. Up on the flybridge is a hardtop to provide shade when it's needed, but with an opening sunroof section to give you the best of both worlds.
View GalleryWhether you're cruising gracefully at 10-12 knots, or flat out at speeds of up to 30 knots, the ride aboard the Ferretti Yachts 960 is nothing less than majestic. It's smooth as anything, and can be further enhanced with various very effective stabilisers. The fact that an owner can take command of this near-100ft superyacht without the need for a master's qualification is perhaps it's most beguiling feature.
